The Face Behind the Checklist
I’m Courtney Siemonsma, and I believe your only job on your wedding day should be showing up and feeling celebrated.
Born and raised right here in Sioux Falls, I work full-time for my family-owned painting business where I learned early on that the magic is in the details and the hard work happens behind the scenes. For the last five years, I’ve worked as an assistant for one of the top event planning companies in the area, learning the high-end standards of the industry from the inside out.
But it wasn’t until my own wedding that it truly clicked. As a bride, I felt firsthand the massive shift that happens when you stop managing the clock and start enjoying the moment. I saw how vital it was to have a trusted point-person handling the decor and timeline so that I—and my family—could actually be present.
Pink Tie Events was born from that experience. I’m not here to take over your vision; I’m here to be the person you hand the baton to. I combine five years of professional coordination experience with the practical, "boots on the ground" work ethic I learned from my family business.
When I’m not zip-tying banners or color-coding floor plans, I’m usually keeping up with my two daughters or enjoying life here in the community I’ve always called home.
You’ve built the plan. I’m just here to make sure you get to live it.
Why Pink Tie Events?
I’m often asked where the name came from. To me, it represents the two sides of every successful wedding: the grit and the grace.
The Pink
The "Pink" is a nod to the heart and the hands-on nature of a DIY wedding. Growing up in my family’s painting business here in Sioux Falls, I learned early on that "pretty" only happens after a lot of hard work. This side of my brand represents the "boots on the ground" spirit. Whether it’s hauling boxes, zip-tying greenery to an arbor, or troubleshooting a centerpiece that won't stay upright, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. It’s my promise to treat your DIY projects and personal details with the same care and effort you used to create them.
The Tie
The "Tie" represents the logistical backbone and the professional standard. It’s the "tied-up" details that keep a wedding from feeling chaotic. This side of my brand is built on the five years I spent training under the top event planners in the area. It’s the minute-by-minute timeline, the vendor management, the contract checks, and the objective, trained eye that sees a problem before it even happens. It’s the professional structure you need so that your hard work doesn’t just look good—it runs perfectly.
I founded Pink Tie Events because I believe DIY brides deserve the best of both worlds. I bring the work ethic of a family business and the expertise of a professional coordinator to your wedding day. I’ve got the clipboard, the experience, and the drive to make sure your only job is being the guest of honor.
